The bottom line of why your businesses needs to do email marketing is… because it directly affects your bottom line.
Email marketing can drive a 4300% ROI. This is according to stats gathered by HubSpot.
To be more precise, for every $1 spend on email marketing, the average return on investment is $44.25. You can see this on Freely.net.
It provides better return than SEO, PPC, content marketing, social media, offline direct marketing, affiliate marketing, online display advertising, and mobile marketing.
As you can see, email is by far the best online traffic source. So why aren’t more businesses taking it more seriously? Imagine if they did; then the average ROI would skyrocket.
The reason that email marketing is still an untapped channel goes back to the quote, “You don’t know what you don’t know”. I think that if more people understood that email marketing is a hugely powerful and profitable channel, there would be more who would jump on board and perfect the craft.
Instead, marketing through email is still something that is waiting to be adopted by the masses.
For example, I helped a 5+ year old business, that was profiting in the millions, launch their first email newsletter to their list of tens of thousands. Prior to this, they had only dreamed of doing email marketing yet never made it a priority in their business.
There are many more stories like this. It is not uncommon to ask a business if they are emailing their list, only to hear that they are ashamed to admit that they are not.
Don’t let this be you. If this is you, then start tapping into your resource that you already own. And if you don’t have a list or wish you had a bigger list, then acquire more opt-ins.
